I always dread writing this part of the website pages because quite honestly, I never really know what to say. For that reason, this will be pretty short and simple...I hope.My name is Cameon Shiflett and I am a Freshman at the University Of Alabama majoring in Elementary and Special Education and am also a participant in the Blount Initiative Program which will give me a Liberal Arts degree as well.
Still looking for where Graphic Design is in that list of majors? Well, actually you won't find it. Truth be told, I do this in my spare time as something to get away from the aforementioned majors that I have selected. I also write sports articles because, quite frankly I am completely in love with sports. (I know, I know...Girl Of Many Hats).
Getting Social Inc. started from me helping out a family friend with her Facebook page. After seeing her answer the same question millions of times, I thought to myself, "It would be great if she had something people saw as soon as they joined her page with all of that information." So, I got to work.
At first, it was just a Welcome Tab with information on how to order and what she offered. Plain white background with plain black text. The information was there though. Slowly but surely, that white background became a Welcome Tab with a collage of pictures depicting what Sew Adorable offers with a letter from her and an Information tab with a polka dot background and a Contact Me tab.Her next question for me was, "What can I do to keep myself better organized?" She threw me for a loop on this one, but it was relatively simple and I am a spreadsheet queen so I ended up being able to create her a customized spreadsheet.
After doing all of this for her and a few of her business partners, she actually encouraged me to set this up as a business because she loved the work I had done.
Obviously, I took her advice.
So, that is how Getting Social Inc. came to be. Which I guess is more about Getting Social than myself, but that's how the cookie crumbled when the fingers started typing. :)
It all went from there.
I have amazing parents that have always encouraged me to go for it, and when I told them about this little venture they said the same thing. I also have a 17 year old sister that is really my best friend and a 14 month old brother (yes, you read that right) that continues to amaze me.If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me at gettingsocialinc@gmail.com.
